Readers who can pick up BBC2 are in for a real treat today as the network screens an episode of the classic 1975 NBC series Ellery Queen, starring Jim Hutton (above) as the deceptively absent-minded sleuth. Regular readers will know I'm a huge fan of this show, it was, IMHO, the greatest 'whodunit' series of all time. Great acting, ingenious mysteries and a wonderful re-creation of late 1940s New York. 'The Adventure of the Hard Hearted Huckster', involving the murder of an advertising executive for a tobacco company, is broadcast at 13.05 today. Set your video and enjoy!
