Neil Clark's Sporting Edge: First thoughts on the Euros draw and other topics....

In this week's Sporting Edge column for RT.com, my first thoughts on the draw for next year's Euros, some sporting awards for 2015, and how the Premier League got interesting & the Bundesliga became boring...
You can read the whole piece here, while here is a link to last week's column.

A most enjoyable sports digest Neil Clark!! Few could begrudge you're selections for the sports awards and yes the premiership is looking far from predicted unlike Spain France.. Germany but...the Germans have stole a great March on the premiership when it comes to how fans should be treated and not have the rug pulled from under them! It's fantastic that fans pay affordable entrance fees and are able to stand in the terrace and show magnificent displays of support something that's been driven from the English game and more importantly the working man has been and still being driven from it whilst TV revenues hit eye watering levels...please indulge my slight gripe as it takes nothing away from your excellent sports report it's just I'm a bit of a romantic when it comes to football!!!

Incidentally I happened to be working in Leicester last week and I took the opportunity to walk round their new stadium and what pleased me most was that they relocated literally over the road from the old filbert Street....that a massive plus in my book still in the heart of the community and not on the edge of a retail/industrial Park distanced from the very lifeblood of every club..it's fans

Hi del- great point about the new stadium. Oxford's alas is as you describe. Like you- I'm very much a romantic when it comes to football! This season has been great because of the uncertainty and having a rank outsider topping the league- and also other 'unfancied' teams like Palace, Watford and West Ham doing so well.
A very happy Christmas to you!
