Always beware of people who say that they are 'all in favour of free speech' BUT...
And people who say that they are 'all for demonstrations', BUT.......
Here's Dave on his plans to remove the anti-war camp in front of Parliament if he gets into power.
"I am all in favour of free speech and the right to demonstrate and the right to protest. But I think there are moments when our Parliament Square does look like a pretty poor place, with shanty town tents and the rest of it.
I am all for demonstrations, but my argument is 'enough is enough'.
What a load of Castor and Pollux. Dave is not against the anti-war camp because it makes Parliament Square look like a 'pretty poor place', but because he's in hock to the neo-cons.
Neocons love demonstrations and protests. So long as they are in Iran. Or Belarus.
Or in Slobodan Milosevic's Yugoslavia.
Back home, they're not so keen.

Well said. Heaven help us when suppression of 'untidiness' and quirky individuality become more important than maintenance of individual freesom
The man is a disgrace, though sadly it seems that he will be Prime Minister within a year.
Wonder what David Davis makes of this?
fivejedjon: Absolutely.
Dan: Yes, it's a frightening prospect.
Charlie: Very good point. I think someone ought to write to Davis to ask whether he agrees with his leader's stance on the anti-war demonstration. It would be nice to know.
Now all he needs to do is suggest that demonstrations can be held but only at a remote stadium on the outskirts of town (to which the speakers will be obstructed from coming by 'administrative means') and we could be in Russia...
Or fired from their jobs for signing a petition and be in Belarus...
Like in the US there is not a bit of difference between the major political parties.
Liberal Democrats even had MI6 terrorist leader Paddy Ashdown as there party head.
@jolies_couleurs
Well the major parties have there Marxist fascist organisations like UAE and Spotlight to spy and harass groups or people they don't like.
And the CIA through NED and the British foreign office, Soros and EU don’t support opposition groups, media, think tanks and NGO’s that are trying to over through there government so they don’t have much to worry about.
We control the Georgian government so we could just bring in there cops who we trained to bet up protestors or Soros funded police units in Hungry.
@jolies_couleurs
Didn't police officers get fired when it was revealed they were members of the BNP.
Jack, your point is? Meanwhile, who is the 'we' that controls the Georgian government? The last time I looked a complex set of political factors were unfolding in Georgia, and the most decisive of these are internal to the Georgian body politic.

I loved your article on 100 years of the Old age pension. As a 74 year old - I hope you dont mind but I have taken a copy and I would like to add it to my web site in the campaigns section. http://www.seniorsnetwork.co.uk/campaigns/neilclark1.htm (Blogs change too easily!)
I am also the voluntary webmaster for the national pensioners convention website www.npcuk.org - I will be passing on the location of the article to the NPC.
Keep up the writing.
