Game, Set and Match to Wimbledon

Can anyone out there remember a more compelling- and amazing- day's play at Wimbledon? The Djokovic-Baghdatis match was incredible theatre, one of the most enjoyable matches I've ever watched and played in a wonderful sporting atmosphere, and as for Marion Bartoli's incredible 007-inspired comeback against Justine Henin.... Then there was Richard Pasquet's stunning fightback against Andy Roddick. I would love to have seen Ana Ivanovic beat Venus Williams, but at least she didn't go down without a fight.
This year's Wimbledon has been plagued by poor weather, but today the sun shone not just on SW London, but on the whole of the wonderful, life-enhancing sport called tennis.

The ending is shaping up to be exciting with lots of quality matches to make up for all the rain and scheduling troubles all together. I am a little biased but I hope Djokovic for a title and I am sure it would be thrilling ending

What a shame that Wimbledon didn't announce, earlier on, that they were to finish on Monday and allowed the men more time to recover from yesterday. If the men's semis had been held tomorrow they might have turned out very differently. It's a real pity about Djokovic having to retire injured and also for Pasquet who didn't have enough time to recover after his heroics against Roddick.

Yes, the scheduling has been awful and it was unceivable to have players play 4 straight days of 5 set matches. Too bad for Djokovic but I am sure he will be around. But at least we have a great final right now
