The 7.52 from Sarajevo is now running three hours late......

You've got to feel sorry for the citizens of Bosnia. In the last fifteen years they've had to put up with Alija Izetbegovic, civil war and the ignominy of being ruled by Lord Paddy Pantsdown. Now when you thought it couldn't possibly get any worse...

I've never travelled on a shinkansen, but my experience of travelling on trains in Yugoslavia in the late 1990s was slightly more positive than my experiences of Britain's privatised railway (please see 'Off the Rails' post for latest news of our wonderfully efficient railway ).
