Twelve Things I'd Like the 44th President to do...
1. Face down the antis and smoke openly in public.
2. Announce that the US is going to stop giving blank cheques to Israel.
3. Ditch Joe Biden as VP and replace him with Maggie Gyllenhaal.
4. Announce that he’s going to introduce a free national health service.
5. Visit Tehran and Damascus and adopt a new, friendlier stance towards Iran and Syria.
6. Ditch Hillary The Hawk and appoint Jimmy Carter or Ramsey Clark as Secretary of State.
7. Announce that the US will only act in accordance with international law.
8. Announce that the US will pay reparations to the people of the former Yugoslavia for the illegal bombing of the country in 1999- and that it will also compensate the Iraqi people for the illegal attack on their country in 2003.
9. Announce the immediate withdrawal of US troops from both Iraq and Afghanistan.
10. Announce the closure of most of the US’s overseas military bases.
11. Stand up and say “The ‘war on terror’ was a load of old baloney- it was a neo-con smokescreen for extending US hegemony around the globe”.
12. Appoint Ralph Nader Trade Secretary.
Of course, it would be a miracle if he even does one of these things.
But wouldn’t it be nice if he did!
Anyway, that’s my wish-list. What's yours?
UPDATE: 'Nicki' has added her list in the comments below - and there's three of hers I wish I'd added to mine:
2. Ban political donations from Agents of foreign countries and corporate political donations. Cap political donations at $100. Return democracy to the American people.
12. Put all neo-cons and associated corporate racketeers on trial for high treason and crimes against humanity.
13. Transform the WB and IMF. Change the culture of American consumerism, stop encouraging usury, free people from debt, free other nations from debt. Truly bring liberty and freedom to the world.

Neil, you really and seriously should stop fooling yourself that you enjoy smoking. You don't! You are a nicotine addict!
I used to be one too - until I quit smoking about 8 months ago.
Trust me Neil, I know exactly what goes on in a smoker's head: I used to think that I enjoyed inhaling those poisonous carcinogenic fumes 15 times a day too - in fact I was absolutely convinced that I did!
But you know what? If you ever get over the drug addiction part of smoking, I promise you that you will NEVER again believe the miserable old lie that people 'enjoy' smoking!
Fact 1: it is costing you the earth and is (probably) bringing you to a much earlier grave than you would otherwise have had.
Fact 2: you just keep doing it because you have to - you are physically hooked to nicotine.
Free yourself from this hateful drug addiction!
Do it for yourself.
Do it for your family.
A friendlier stance towards dictatorship, a less friendly stance towards democracy, and pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan so the Islamists can continue oppressing. Those darned girls thinking they have a right to go to school! Must put an end to that! Yup, that sounds like your sort of agenda.
I was protesting outside the US embassy by the time he took office.
I can tell you, we chanted and shouted many of these demands, but no one of us thought he is listening.
let us hope he get rid of the hawks he surrounded himself with, people's voice may reach him then.
1. Nationalise the Federal Reserve or support every State supplying it's own money
2. Ban political donations from Agents of foreign countries and corporate political donations. Cap political donations at $100. Return democracy to the American people.
3. Ditch Joe Biden as VP and replace him with Maggie Gyllenhaal.
4. Withdraw American troops and bases which are not required by the host nations upon public referendum.
5. He is now able to Announce that he’s going to introduce a free national health service.
6. Respect cultural identity and sovereignty of all other nations including European.
7.Visit Tehran and Damascus and adopt a new, friendlier stance towards Iran and Syria.
8. Ditch Hillary The Hawk and appoint Ramsey Clark or Ralph Nader as Secretary of State.
9. Announce that the US will only act in accordance with international law.
10. Announce that the US will pay reparations to the people of the former Yugoslavia for the illegal bombing of the country in 1999- and that it will also compensate the Iraqi people for the illegal attack on their country in 2003.
11. Apologise to Great Britain for his countries shameless racketeering over GB's WW II war debt, the last instalment was paid in 2006, and repay it in full.
10. Stand up and say “The ‘war on terror’ was a load of old baloney- it was a neo-con smokescreen for extending US hegemony around the globe”.
12. Put all neo-cons and associated corporate racketeers on trial for high treason and crimes against humanity.

Nicki
Neil, have you got a spare shoe I can chuck at Pukey-Burden.
Tina
Hi Tina, I'll take a look!
What Chas doens't mention is that it was his neo-con pals who backed the radical Islamists in Afghanistan in the 1980s in order to weaken the Soviet Union and destroy communism.
Neocons also backed radical Islamists in the Balkans in order to destroy socialist Yugoslavia.
Also, Chas fails to mention how it was his neo-con and Zionist pals who also toppled the secular Ba'athist regime in Iraq- so if 'Islamists' are 'oppressing' there now, Chas, blame Richard Perle, Paul Wolfowitz and co, and not those of us who opposed the war.
He might announce #7, keeping international law. Doesn't mean he would have to keep it & there is a lot of wiggle room in international law - with the exception of the Yugoslav war I think they have calimed everything else was lawful even if only as defence against WMDs.
I would like him to, starting in January, allow the building of nuclear power stations, but that was Palin's promise. Plentiful cheap electricty would certainly end the recession which I think even more important than any of your points.
Course, he doesn't, Neil. His lot are over represented in supporting wars, under represented in fighting them. His lot want the likes of mine and your kids to "liberate" the Iraqi's. He wants us to rejoice Iraqi women can vote so long as they're in hijabs and make it through various militia and suicide bombers, some in colusion with the "liberators." For this "liberation" of Iraq and Afghanistan, we've buried British boys and girls, in some cases, family lines died with these lads. We've got young men with no legs, no arms, blinded. Young men with neurological damage - With pitiful long term respite care, they'll eventually be chucked in geriatric care if one charity or other can't take them. That's where their kids will go to see their dads until their mother's can't take it anymore.
Good thing about recessions is they force more lads into cannon fodder for those bastards. You asked Brown which realm he was protecting, it isn't ours, Neil.
Nicki: Great list, especially about putting the neocons and associated corporate racketeers on on trial for high treason and crimes against humanity.
2 and 13 are good points too.

that's a great line and very true.

Given your support for capital punishment, would you like to see the " ...neocons and associated corporate racketeers ..." executed?
As a member of Amnesty International I would like to see the new President push for the abolition of capital punishment throughout the United States.
Ralph Nader is at his best use as a lyric in a Buzzcock's track ('Fast Cars').
