When the US goes to war, corporate America goes too.
There are contracts for caterers, tanker drivers, security guards and even interrogators, many of them through companies with links to the White House.
Now more than 70 whistleblower cases threaten to reveal the scandals behind billions of dollars worth of waste, theft and corruption during the Iraq war.
Last night's Panorama told the story of what "may well turn out to be the largest war profiteering in history". And I particularly urge those of you who still think the Iraq war was about 'spreading democracy' or 'liberating' the Iraqi people, to take a look.

That people retrospectively profit mightily from war does not in itself mean that the war itself was undertaken in order to profit.
I know it can be comforting to imagine that policy is generated out of simple patterns of motivation, in this case, greed. However, reality proves time and again to be more complex.
The disturbing thing about the current leadership is their ability to both delusionally idealistic and venial in one 'schizophrenic' body politic - that is much more disturbing than them simply been mired in two of the seven deadly sins (or is it three)!
Very poor program.
First of all it was made by the same journalist who made several other propaganda programs about the hidden WMD in Iraq. she has been scandalously discredited, why should anyone believe her now?
Secondly, she made very poor research, the known details about this scandal has been published. Take for example Mr Shalan, the former defense minister who bought weapons that never been delivered or dilapidated, does that discredit him or depict Poland as rug traders?
The fact is that he paid for the weapons in cash not letters of credit, via his own bank account rather than the government’s, then transferred the money from the Iraqi government account to himself. these are the details Iraqi parliament published when they started investigating his misdoings..
More importantly, stealing is still running on massive scale.
America had cancelled many UN resolutions about Iraq, but left one which restricts Iraqi dealings with money and transfers all Iraqi revenues to US central bank, who is in charge of this money?
When Iraq tried to change some of his money to other currencies the US refused.
One more thing, ( which you can find details about on the net ) There is a huge oil pipeline 1 meter diameter, running from Safwan along the international road to Kuwait, given that Iraq don’t export oil via Kuwait. Who is stealing this oil?
