Murder in Dubai: the finger points to Mossad

video: dubaisession.

The so-called 'quiet' assassination of the Hamas leader Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in his Dubai hotel room last month is having wider consequences than even the assassins and their directors might have realised.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has called for a full investigation into how five fake British passports were used by the killers, and how they stole the identities of five men with dual British-Israeli citizenship.
The method of operation, down to the fake passports and stolen identities, points to Mossad, the foreign intelligence organisation of the state of Israel.

You can read the rest of Robert Fox's First Post piece here.

Meanwhile, even 'Neo' Con Coughlin has written a piece entitled 'Israel must come clean over its involvement in the Dubai murder plot’.

Is this, like their invasion of Gaza, another big p.r. disaster for Israel?

Only time will tell.

UPDATE: Mehdi Hasan makes a good point over at the NS.

Let me ask you this: can you imagine the reaction if members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard were suspected of assassinating an Iranian dissident living abroad in Dubai, or an Israeli politician or general visiting a foreign country?

Well, I think we can be fairly sure that Melanie Phillips would have written about it by now.

FURTHER UPDATE:

Seumas Milne writes:

Imagine for a moment what the reaction would be if Iranian intelligence was almost unversally believed to have assassinated a leader of one of the organisations fighting the Tehran government in a western-friendly state. Then consider how Britain, let alone the US, might respond if the killers had carried out the operation using forged or stolen passports of citizens of four European states, including Britain, with dual Iranian nationality.

You can be sure it would have triggered a major international storm, stentorian declarations about the threat of state-sponsored terrorism, and perhaps a debate at the UN security council, with demands for harsher sanctions against an increasingly dangerous Islamic republic.

Substitute Israel for Iran, and the first part of that scenario is exactly what happened in Dubai last month.

But instead of setting off a diplomatic backlash, the British government sat on its hands for almost a week after it was reportedly first passed details of the passport abuse. And while the Foreign Office finally summoned the Israeli ambassador to "share information", rather than protest, Gordon Brown could yesterday only promise a "full investigation".

It does raise the question on Jewish/Israeli influence in this country if they can acquire blank British passports or false one made up for them that would indicate official/s in the government who has contact with Mossad. Who is our AIPAC equivalent lobby?

This is not that long ago after an Iranian nuclear scientist was killed in a bomb assassination attack in Tehran.

It has Mossad written all over it.

Will Brown hold a real inquiry, and make moves towards breaking up the Labour Friends of Isreal? I doubt it, he's a member! It'll be another toothless affair like the Chilcot farce.

'In that case, the would-be assassins were carrying the Canadian passports of Israeli citizens, apparently with their knowledge. But while Mossad has used British documents in other attacks, it has naturally steered clear of faking the passports of its US sponsor. So at the same time as Israel is demanding the British government change the law without delay to prevent the arrest of visiting Israeli leaders on war crimes charges, what is Britain planning to do over the abuse of its citizens' identity to carry out state-directed murder?'

point to note...beware dual israeli citizens..they are likely working for israel.

This is one more eg of zionist control of western govts, esp wher you have zionist officials in govt who really serve israel.

This was (of course) MOSSAD, which is pretty prolific in these affairs, but the Iranian example is a classic red herring, as Tehran's intelligence services since 1979 HAVE killed literally hundreds of dissidents and regime opponents abroad, including many assassinations in the West. And, with a few exceptions, no Western press have much commented on this.

Well, Mossad has a history of doing this. There's nothing new in it , as the assoassination of PLO members or Palestinians sympathetic to it were bumped off after the muder of Israeli athletes in 1972 at Munich.

Compare & contrast with the Milosevic murder, almost certainly carried out by some of the manmy British SIS oficers working on for the "war crimes tribunal". This guy was killed because he was a genocidal murderer not facing trial. Milosevic was murdered purely because he was an innocnet man & the fact that in 4 1/2 years of "trial" it had been impossible to find any evidence against him.

Neither Gordon Brown nor any part of the openly racist British media got upset about that one.
