Norway and Switzerland don't 'belong' in Europe?

Timothy Garton-Ash drools at the prospect of another member of his beloved E.U. in the Guardian today. He writes:

The citizens of Montenegro and Serbia know that they have to make their own way to prosperity, democracy and the rule of law. Only then can they advance, via the OSCE, the Council of Europe, Uefa, Miss Europe, the Eurovision Song Contest and Nato, to today's ultimate seal of European belonging: EU membership.

Those poor old Norwegians and Swiss must be feeling really left out.

I really hope we don't get "today's ultimate seal of European belonging". Free travel and trade, and you can keep your dreams of a superstate superpower to yourself Mr. Bureaucrat, thank you very much..

TGA biterness towards the Serbs is amazing. Now Mr Milosevic is no more he blames every Serb for everything that has happened in Yugoslavia since '91. The man is deranged. Still he gets his crazy thoughts in print while anyone wanting to challenge the garbage doesn't get a look in.
