The Crime of the Century

Five years ago today, a great crime was committed. The 21st Century is less than a decade old, but I'd be surprised if a greater crime will ever be committed in the next 90 years.
"Given that the invasion of Iraq was regarded as illegal by the majority of the UN security council, its secretary general, and the overwhelming weight of international legal opinion, it must by the same token be seen as a war crime: what the Nuremberg tribunal deemed the "supreme international crime" of aggression",
says Seumas Milne, in today's Guardian.

The illegal invasion of Iraq has led to the deaths of over 1m people, and created over 4m refugees. It has made not only Iraq, but many other countries in the world, far more dangerous places. Yet despite the death and destruction they have caused, those responsible for this most deceitful of wars remain free, and still stalk the corridors of power. Worse still, they are now doing all they can to propagandise for another illegal attack, this time on Iran.

As I've said before, we will not have peace until the neocons and their 'liberal interventionist' allies are properly held to account for the 'supreme international crime' they committed in March 2003.

The lesson for the West of the last five years, as Correlli Barnett states in today's Daily Mail ,is a simple one.

Never Again.

Why did Europe allowed Hitler to do, what he did?

Why Western World allows US to do, what are they are doing?

Why do guys who murdered that baby and many more of innocent people are consider heroes and fighters against terrorism and even victims?!?

Because most of the humans are small minded ignorant idiots.

How do you find strength to write anymore, when people don't care or don't want to think?

An attack on Iran would be just that.

To quote Eldridge Cleaver (who was quoting someone else) 'If you're not a part of the solution..you're a part of the problem'.

This is anyway.
Direct and front.
Let us here from shit, of a type to play cat and mouse, with two superpowers, without being caught?
First with the Soviets, protected by the CIA, now with the Americans, again in Afghanistan, protected by whom? And it is known there more where?
Is it possible?
Who needs this game?
Will this time bin Laden to laugh at the ranch of George W. Bush?
Or at the headquarters of the CIA in Virginia?
Or in the Kremlin?
Is under the protection of the Red Army?
Or in Agartha?
Is alive?
It costs me to believe that the Imperial Super Power, the United States, have not used the tactics well known from Imperial Rome, it has allowed many movements, offering satellite, which can locate a person in the middle of a crowd and that can see a currency of the space and see if it is expensive or crown?
If you wanted to hit the step, there is much that had done?
Who is this game?
I wonder again…
Who cares perpetuates it?
Or a puppet manipulated by someone? Who?
I must say that yesterday I was uncomfortable with this honourable to make threats on TV, against the Europeans and the values that Western Europe represents in the world.
Bin Laden Is Real?
This is what his strange, reminds me of the "1984", George Orwell, with a minute of hatred and then only lack the image of the Great Brother peaceful and quiet…

When I saw the end of your post, I had this fleeting thought that you were equating Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Holocaust. But Corelli Barnett isn't claiming that.

Are you saying that Operation Iraqi Freedom is a greater crime than the 9/11 attacks?

I know we disagree on the justice, the legality, and the wisdom of Operation Iraqi Freedom. I invite you to consider this article written by Jules Crittenden as an alternative point of view

Hi Douglas,
Thanks for your comments.

"When I saw the end of your post, I had this fleeting thought that you were equating Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Holocaust. But Corelli Barnett isn't claiming that."

Neither am I. But I am equating it with other illegal invasions of sovereign states, because that's what it was.

"I know we disagree on the justice, the legality, and the wisdom of Operation Iraqi Freedom."

I think we also disagree with its morality. I think 'Iraqi Freedom' was not the aim, grabbing Iraq's resources, was. If you do think that 'liberating the Iraqi people was the aim, how come the US doesn't 'liberate' the people of other countries who live under repressive dictatorships?

"Are you saying that Operation Iraqi Freedom is a greater crime than the 9/11 attacks?"

I think it's silly and pointless to get into debates about which atrocities were the greater crime. Let's just say that I think 9/11 and the illegal invasion of Iraq were both terrible crimes which ought to be condemned nequivocally by all right-minded people.
The US gained an enormous amount of global sympathy after 9-11 attacks, but squandered it by illegally attacking a country- Iraq- which had nothing whatsoever to do with them.

Thanks for the link, I'll certainly take a look.

Best wishes,

Neil
