Oh boy! That speech bubble is pure magic!
It's not a happy day for Republicans like me. McCain is absolutely unacceptable, but the party is telling us we will nominate him and like it, even though it will result in certain defeat in November.
We're only peely-wolly at best for Romney, the most serious candidate remaining.
What is truly galling is that Obama is out-Reaganing the entire Republican party with his utterly upbeat vibe, and the hint of a scintilla of a possibility that he might actually mean it.
Hi Douglas,
The best Republican candidate in my opinion was Ron Paul. I don't agree with a lot of his policies on the economy, but he's dead right on foreign policy. But of course, the neocon smear machine did their utmost to sabotage his campaign and to portray his as an extremist, while John 'Bomb. Bomb, Iran' McCain, is portrayed as a 'centrist' and a 'moderate' !

What, by ignoring it?
It's the Democrats turn to win anyway.
The ilusion of democracy is shattered if you don't change the public name of the ruling elite every now and then.
Many Republicans with libertarian tendencies have flirted with fleeting thoughts of supporting Ron Paul, but Paul has been unwilling to repudiate his neo-Nazi supporters, and it doesn't help that his supporters who aren't neo-Nazis are internet poll spammers.
And yet, with all that, Ron Paul picked up 15% of the Republican caucus vote in my home state of Minnesota.
