A complaint has been lodged by William Spring, Director of an ecumenical peace group over BBC coverage of the death of Slobodan Milosevic.
A file has been sent to Helen Boaden, including a complaint against Gavin Hewitt currently in Belgrade.

I will be posting emails and addresses later for all those who feel like I do, that the coverage of this weekend's events by the publicly owned broadcaster has been nothing short of a disgrace. It's our BBC, as we are so often told, we pay the licence fee, and we deserve better than being served up with propaganda which Goebbels would have been proud of.

Below the line is a statement I made yesterday re BBC coverage of the death of Slobodan Milosevic.
I would like you to explain to me why the BBC chooses to breach its Charter obligations by not maintaining impartiality in the reporting of news.
I have never seen such disgraceful conduct from a broadcaster as evidenced by BBC 24 Hours TV in its biased partisan selection of speakers, who enjoyed demeaning and defaming the dead, while challenging the presumption of innocence, basic to our legal system, and outraging the sentiments not merely of Serbs but of fair minded people throughout the world.
I have just looked again at this same channel.
The disgrace continues.
The midnight news showed Gavin Hewitt in Belgrade, anxious to find someone who didn't like Milosevic.
Finally he located a distraught woman whose son had been killed by a NATO bomb in 1999 and who blamed Milosevic for his death.
But it was Tony Blair who killed her son, not Milosevic.
It is Tony Blair who is the mass murderer, (not just of Serbs, but of Afghans and Iraqis as well) and also Torturer in Chief in this benighted uncivilised country of ours.
Two of my brothers were machine gunned by a German plane in Bournemouth during the last war.
Fortunately they survived.
If they had been killed would I have blamed Churchill?
Tell Gavin Hewitt in my view he is thoroughly despicable.
Where is his journalistic integrity? Does he even understand the concept?
Slavishly following BBC instructions, to dig the dirt on Milosevic, and desperate for a hatchet job, but unable to find the hatchet, like a hyena he prowls around Belgrade seeking out distressed folk so he can then work up their testimony into a story with an anti Milosevic spin.
But the lady's testimony came from a broken heart, and thanks to Blair and NATO there are many broken hearts in Belgrade.
International justice seems to be as bad as international broadcasting BBC variety.
International justice essentially comes down to murder, murder by the Great Powers when someone becomes too inconvenient, the murder of Hess at Spandau, the murder of Milosevic at the Hague.
Please investigate my complaint.

The report came hours after Milosevic's legal adviser showed journalists a letter the late Serb leader wrote Friday, one day before his body was discovered in prison, alleging that he was being poisoned.
The report was on the text service of the Dutch state broadcaster, NOS. It did not identify its source further.

searching for an answer to why Milosevic's medication for high blood pressure was not working, the report
said. Milosevic was examined last January, according to his legal aide, Zdenko Tomanovic.
The NOS report did not identify the drug found in Milosevic's blood "in a test done in recent months,"
but said it could have had a "neutralizing effect" on his other medications.
Earlier, Tomanovic said Milosevic had been "seriously concerned" about being poisoned.
His letter, dated March 10, was addressed to the Russian Embassy asking for help.
Milosevic had appealed to the war crimes tribunal last December to be allowed to go to a heart clinic in
Moscow for treatment. The request was denied. He repeated the request as late as last month.
Milosevic underwent frequent medical examinations by doctors and specialists appointed by the tribunal and
by Serb doctors brought at his own request. Detailed reports were routinely submitted to the judges.
Tomanovic said he saw the jailed Serb leader on Friday at 4:30 p.m. His body was found the next morning, and by 11 a.m. the letter was delivered to the Russian Embassy.

Milosevic's lawyer Zdenko Tomanovic said his client had feared he was being poisoned, but the tribunal rejected a request for the autopsy to be done in Russia, close ally of the former Yugoslavia and home to Milosevic's wife, brother and son.
Tomanovic said his client had written to Russia asking for help a day before his death, adding he had been given the wrong drugs -- including some for leprosy -- in a bid to silence him.
Cardiologists treating Milosevic in The Hague had warned he was at risk of a life-threatening condition known as a hypertensive emergency, when surges in blood pressure can damage the heart, kidneys and central nervous system.
Reports emerged indicating Milosevic may have had suspicious traces in his blood or had not been taking medication.
A blood sample from Milosevic in January contained traces of drugs used to treat leprosy or tuberculosis that can neutralise medicine for high blood pressure and heart problems, Dutch public TV NOS reported, quoting an unnamed tribunal adviser.

You write in The Sunday Times today that 'the evidence the trial has clearly established is that Milosevic was the inspiration for the joint criminal enterprise to carve an ethnically pure 'Greater Serbia' out of the ruins of Bosnia and Croatia'. Does it? I have been following the trial on a daily basis, and I can find nothing among the transcripts to back up your assertion. Perhaps I've missed it. As I am sure you would not make a claim of this order in a prestigious Sunday newspaper without any factual basis, please could you email me the evidence you refer to.

"With all due respects to people in various parts of the world, there strong condemnation of this man is solely based on what the media has dished out to them, how a hostile media can turn people with no connection to be so damning about the only man of that region who tried to hold it together.
