Always gave me the creeps. B...Fox is just so OILY! Always gave me the creeps. But then, Tories amost always do ; my first reaction to them is always " how could anyone take this person seriously as an applicant for a tea person (server of tea)?". But nonetheless, they rise and prosper by some opaque selection process - what is it? Suitable lack of common ground with the human race? One of the most astute assessments I ever read of the Tory party was: " if they all came from the same village you'd put it down to pollution".

Not that the Labour party is any better now. David Lindsay has summed it up perfectly. David M has that air about him that he REALLY doesn't see that the people have any business poking their noses into the doings of their betters.jock mctrousersnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17766817.post-52225442499817809622011-10-19T22:42:08.423+01:002011-10-19T22:42:08.423+01:00So what if Liam Fox "did not profit personall...So what if Liam Fox "did not profit personally"? That was never the point. The point was and is that those who "profited" mightily were the foreign powers directing Her Majesty's Secretary of State for Defence. As it happens, one of those powers is a political position rejected at the ballot box the last time that Americans elected someone to run their foreign policy, and unlikely to make it onto the ballot paper next year, while the other has today been denounced by none other than Gilad Shalit.

But that, in itself, is not the point. The point is that foreign political factions, one of them in government in a foreign country (which, although again this does not really matter, is in no sense a British ally), have been controlling a British Cabinet Minister, the one in charge of our Armed Forces and the awarding of our defence contracts. A mandarin who has worked closely with the Blairites as well as with the Cameroons and the Orange Book Lib Dems has dutifully whitewashed this biggest political scandal for centuries. Why?

What is "not appropriate and not acceptable" is the continued extension of the Whip to Liam Fox. This is the opportunity to smoke them all out: "If you don't like it, then you can all resign the Whip in sympathy and see how far an openly Israel First, America Second, Britain Third (If At All) Party gets at the ballot box."

However, this is not the only policy area in which the Coalition is obviously in the pocket of the people who have taken over the American Republican Party. No one who knew anything about it would have voted for a foreign and defence policy dictated by George Bush throwbacks and Avigdor Lieberman acolytes. But no one at all would vote for a health policy dictated by the American corporate healthcare sector.

Accordingly, no such policy appeared in either the Conservative or the Lib Dem manifesto, nor in the Coalition Agreement. Yet that is what we are to have, and the Murdoch and ex-Black media are in full cry for the Leadership of the Labour Party to pass to the man who ran Tony Blair's Policy Unit when it was forever sending suggestions of that kind to be rejected by Gordon Brown.

I wonder why...?David Lindsayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06839882674758833524noreply@blogger.com
