Well that's what the taxpayer is paying to private rail and bus companies at the momment- in the case of the railways, the private companies are getting four times more of our money than British Rail did!<BR/>But it's not just about money, it's also about changing the culture of public transport and instilling a sense of pride in the<BR/>system. I agree with Binyon that the British are too easy-going when it comes to waiting for trains that never arrive, or buses that turn up very late. We need to complain more and refuse to put up with such a second-rate, but very expensive service.
